The brief from Diarmuid Gavin, detailed that he wanted to show how a group of people could grow fruit and vegetables, relax, cook and eat within their own plots or gardens in a beautiful striking "green" structure.
The idea for this structure came from Enid Blyton's best selling book The Faraway Tree and post Chelsea, the greenhouse in question is destined for the garden of best selling authoress Lesley Pearse, who is also used to seeing her novels climbing high in the ‘best seller’ charts.
“Who knows”, says Lesley, “ I may get inspiration for my next novel whilst I am enjoying my beautiful new Greenhouse,”
“All in all, it’s a novel idea with a happy ending”, says Jennifer, joint proprietor and customer services manager of the Victorian Greenhouse, and adds “Lesley has a delightful garden and we can’t wait to ‘bring it down to earth’ for her after the show”.
