May 21, 2012 - PRLog -- In its first year of operation, FOXit, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and service provider focused on Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) in business, has gained ground within the enterprise solution development and application space and demonstrated why agility means everything in business today.

The company, along with several industry partners including EOH Consulting, Microsoft, Nintex and PWC Exordia, recently celebrated the business’ first birthday.

Since FOXit’s inception, management at the company has challenged corporate South Africa – and businesses throughout the continent – to review and adapt their approach to technology application in business.

Aldo van Tonder, CEO of FOXit, says the message to companies and decision makers is that project management, workflow and portfolio management infrastructure has developed to the point where it is now far easier, more convenient and more practical to integrate and use.

“There is now every opportunity for any business, of any size, to apply advanced project management technology to improve operations . We are excited about the growth in mobility and what this means for remote project management of the business, of remote but secure management of data and internal processes,” says van Tonder.

Demonstrating a fresh approach to technology application and convincing decision makers of the practical benefits of this were identified as primary objectives when FOXit was established.

Van Tonder believes whilst there is still so much to do, the company has won over sceptics and successfully highlighted what can be achieved by using technology in a different way.

“We’ve always stated that solutions are not solutions unless they help the user accomplish something. In the current marketplace, workflow and data management are critical to the bottom line. Decision makers continue to look to advanced systems and the control offered by these systems to enhance their operations. They leverage off the control to better manage aspects such as consumerisation of IT, unified communications and cloud-based service provision,” van Tonder adds.

Speaking at the event Pavlo Phitidis, from the Aurik Business Incubator, a project directly involving FOXit and Microsoft, said Aurik has worked with over seven hundred entrepreneurs in the incubator, over a 12-year period through three stages in the business development lifecycle being startup, early stage and growth stage.

With over twenty years of direct experience in building and selling businesses, as well as working with high potential entrepreneurs, Phitidis said FOXit will benefit extensively from Aurik’s expertise, experience and passion for fast growth businesses within ultra-competitive environments.

“South Africa needs successful IT companies to not only spur on innovation, but provide exciting highly skilled job opportunities for the best and brightest, preventing them from going elsewhere. The business acceleration program is the ideal vehicle to inspire technology entrepreneurs demonstrating that the answer to building a fast growth IT company requires both top end IT skills and business development support,” said Phitidis.
