First Working Group meeting to “Create Awareness about valvular heart diseases” held

PRLog (Press Release) - May 21, 2012 - Heart Care Foundation of India has announced a new initiative “Creating Awareness about valvular heart diseases”. The first Working Group meeting was held in the city here today and was attended by Dr.Surinder Bazaz, Dr. Z.S.Meharwal, Dr. Yugal K Mishra , Dr.Ujjwal K Choudhary , Dr.G.K.Mani , Dr.Mubeen Mohammad , Dr.O P Yadava , Dr.K G Yadav , Dr.Anoop Ganjoo , Dr.Saurabh Juneja, Dr. A.K.Kansal , Dr. Vishnu Singhal , Dr.Devagourou, Dr.Narender Singh Jhajharia , Dr.S K Sinha , Dr.Rajesh Kaushish,  Dr. O.P.Jain , Dr. G.M.Singh , Dr.Sandeep Singh and Dr. Dinesh Negi.

The experts felt that valvular heart diseases are on rise today in the country.  The problem of rheumatic heart diseases has not reduced in the last two decades. Cases are now occurring in both the rural and affluent society. Congenital valvular heart diseases are also on the rise. http://www.emedinews.org/press-release
The experts said that sore throat in children should not be ignored, especially, in the absence of cough and nasal discharge. Any irritation in the throat with red angry looking inside of the throat and pain in the throat while eating should be taken seriously as it may be rheumatic sore throat which can bite the heart.
