May 20, 2012 - Leonardo da Vinci Health Sciences Charter School (LdVCS) will be presenting its 3rd annual Education Celebration on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the LdVCS campus located in Building 8 at 1615 Mater Dei Drive in Chula Vista. Kindergarten through sixth grade students will demonstrate 21st century learning skills necessary for future success by presenting standards-based learning projects to their parents, peers, and the local community.
Four twenty-five-
minute presentation sessions will allow guests to observe and interact with students of all grade levels as they present a diverse array of learning projects which include: kindergarten entomologists sharing their discoveries about the world of insects; first grade authors and time traveler interviews; a second grade blog dedicated to wonder research projects; second grade animal research projects; third grade presentations on how they used sunrise/sunset data to determine the locations of ten mystery locations around the world; fourth grade efforts at changing others’ behaviors about trash and recycling; fifth grade brochures on dust and its affect on your health; and sixth grade research on the health benefits of eating whole grains domesticated in the great ancient civilizations of the world.
