By: Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Westfield NJ WESTFIELD, NEW JERSEY – This year Holy Trinity gives an early welcome to summer, with Greek Fest 2012. Following rave reviews, Greek Fest 2012 promises to be one of New Jersey’s premier cultural events this season, sharing Hellenic hospitality, memorable cuisine, the arts, and great entertainment. "We're back this year with a four-day celebration that truly offers something for everyone who wants a Taste of Greece. Join our big Greek family to jump-start the summer!" says Peter Ladas, Chairman of Holy Trinity Greek Fest 2012. Greek Fest 2012 runs from Thursday evening May 31 (Family Night) through Sunday evening June 3 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, located at 250 Gallows Hill Road in Westfield, New Jersey. An exciting program highlights cultural outreach and authentic Greek delights for members of the entire family: * Under the Taverna Tent - several homemade Greek appetizers, full dinners, and traditional desserts made on the premises: now including freshly-made chicken, pork, or lamb gyros served hot from the grill, famous loukoumathes (dough puffs with honey), and noteworthy “baklava sundae.” * Top-flight Entertainment - back by popular demand, New York’s own The Trojan’s (of TV and movie fame) playing live Greek music the nights of Friday June 1 and Saturday June 2, plus Greek dancing each festival night. * Traditions in the Arts – Greek culinary arts are featured each day through cooking demonstrations in “Yiayia’s Kitchen,” including our own Father Delvizis will perform culinary delights. Greek wines and multiple wine tastings,Hellenic arts and crafts will be sold in the “Agora”, and a scheduled tour of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church will feature Byzantine iconography. For younger children, Greek Fest 2012 offers the Kid Zone “one price” play ticket for all amusements, available for $12 from 5-9 PM Thursday May 31 and Friday June 1, $15 from 1-9 PM Saturday June 2, and $12 from 1-5 PM Sunday June 3. About Greek Fest 2012 and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Greek Fest 2012 is a fundraising event benefitting Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and its outreach ministries. Both the festival and church are located at 250 Gallows Hill Road, Westfield, NJ 07090. Free parking and shuttle service will be offered throughout the event. Festival hours of operation will be 5 -10 PM on Thursday May 31 (Family Night), 12 - 11 PM on Friday June 1 and Saturday June 2, and 12 - 5 PM on Sunday June 3.
