May 19, 2012 - PRLog -- JR Cunningham, a man with a lifelong curiosity about the world that surrounds us, has decided to launch a site on the Internet to explain one of the things that has baffled him the most.  After conducting much research, he has finally come upon the secrets to preserving foods and the mysteries behind freeze drying almost anything.

Through the use of picture, YouTube videos, and the words crafted by his own two hands, he hopes to shed light on the mysteries of dehydrated foods and freeze dried foods so that the world will have a better understanding of what going into these technologies.

The first thing I had to do when I set out to learn how is food freeze dried was to figure out the scientific name of the process.  It turns out that it is called lyophilization.  In essence, this is the process of putting food into a state of suspended animation.  Once you need to the food for a meal, you simple add a little hot water and voila! You have an instant meal.  Follow along now as I tell you how is food freeze dried and also explain what the difference is in freeze-drying and dehydrating foods.
