As part of an annual peer-review nomination process, D Magazine polls almost 9,000 attorneys throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, asking them to vote for lawyers that best represent the legal profession. Fellow attorneys vote for nominee’s that demonstrate high standards in terms of quality of work and integrity in the legal profession. For 2012, finalists were narrowed down to 372 attorneys segregated into 31 areas of specialization, and Darin Klemchuk was named as a Best Lawyer in Intellectual Property Law.

Klemchuk has been practicing IP law for more than 14 years, and has worked on a number of Fortune 500 cases. In addition to working with large companies, he works with many growing, entrepreneurial companies, focusing on patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation. Having handled more than 200 intellectual property disputes, including 20 patent infringement cases, he helps clients increase their market share and protect their competitive advantage by identifying and protecting valuable branding, technological innovation, software, and other property by procuring various IP registrations and agreements. He also advises clients on licensing, acquisitions, due diligence, eCommerce, including the emerging field of branding in cyberspace and trademark issues related to the Internet. Before he co-founded Klemchuk Kubasta, he was a partner in Cash Klemchuk Powers Taylor LLP, a business law firm. Klemchuk began his legal career at Thompson & Knight LLP, where he worked as an associate in the firm’s litigation department. Prior to his legal career, he was a mechanical engineer with Boeing, following a stint in the U.S. Army National Guard.
In addition to being recognized as one of the Best IP Lawyers in Dallas, Klemchuk has also been named by D Magazine as a Best Lawyer in Dallas Under 40 for 2002 and 2006. He has also been named recognized numerous times as a Texas Super Lawyer and as a Rising Star by Law & Politics Magazine as published in Texas Super Lawyers Magazine. Klemchuk received a J.D. from Vanderbilt University in 1997, and graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington in 1990.
