A Night of Music Celebrating Dinah Washington

PRLog (Press Release) - May 18, 2012 - WHAT:   On Tuesday, June 5th, 2012, The Beehive, located in Boston, MA, presents a tribute to the Grammy award-winning vocalist Dinah Washington with cuisine, libations and live entertainment. Join The Beehive for this celebration of the “Queen of the Blues” as Michelle “Evil Gal” Willson takes the stage to pay homage to Dinah Washington, one of the most beloved singers of the mid-20th century.
Known for her distinctive bold, sharp and high-pitched voice, Washington was praised for her clear articulation and shortened, bluesy phrasing. Her 20-year singing career is filled with blues, standards, novelties and pop covers like her first hit “Evil Gal Blues” in the early 1950s and her break into mainstream popular music with “What a Diff’rence Makes” in 1953. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.

Be there when the music starts and the spirit of Washington comes alive at 8:00PM as Michelle Willson takes the stage and performs a tribute to one of her idols. The night’s music will be complemented by the culinary contributions of Executive Chef Rebecca Newell from 5:00PM-2:00PM.
