Minnesota Company Makes Green Construction Affordable and Fast
Minneapolis, MN – May 17, 2012 - The Pourhouse, a prohibition themed bar and restaurant in Minneapolis, opening June 1st, is going eco-friendly with Granicrete. In choosing Granicrete Minnesota, The Pourhouse was able to utilize existing floors and countertops in the renovation, saving time and money, while being green in the process.
Granicrete is a superior alternative to demolition for commercial projects. Granicrete can be applied over nearly anything. The custom countertops are resurfaced and built with a 1/8" concrete overlay system. They have the upscale look of granite, marble or concrete at a fraction of the cost of other surfaces. Unlike new granite, this product never has to be sealed and has no seams. Another huge plus for The Pourhouse, Granicrete products are NSF and USDA approved for food safety.
Steve Bilcik, an installer of Granicrete Minnesota, will be resurfacing existing granite countertops in the new restaurant; as well as, building out additional countertop space for the bar. Bilcik will be able to resurface the existing bar to match the color, texture, and desired look the owners want to achieve.
Brent Frederick, one of the owner’s of The Pourhouse, noted that he choose to work with Granicrete Minnesota because of the versatility of the product and the ability to be installed quickly.
Frederick explains, “We were thrilled to find a way to renovate our space to fit our creative concept, without starting from scratch, learning that we were also being green at the same time was a great bonus! But for us, the quickness with which the resurfacing was done was the best part!”
Granicrete Minnesota, owned by Tom and Jean Eaton of Albert Lea, opened a Minneapolis showroom in late 2011.
