National Best-Selling Author Shelia Goss Ventures into Contemporary Urban Teen Fiction

PRLog (Press Release) - May 18, 2012 - Shreveport author Shelia Goss announces the launch of her new book genre and pen name aimed at contemporary teen audiences. Goss, who writes under the pen name “Sparkle” for the new Sweet Sixteen series, hopes that the serious social issues discussed in the book opens a dialogue for healing for teens facing similar issues. In the series, three high school friends (Sade, Crystal and Dena) share their stories in first person and tackle such issues as molestation, promiscuity, alcoholism and self-esteem issues.

“I discovered that teenagers were enjoying adult urban fiction and felt that some of the content in those books was not suited for them,” says Goss. “The books in this new series tackle serious issues facing today’s youth in a manner that is age appropriate and easily relatable to. It is my hope that the reader puts down this book and is better prepared to discuss these issues with someone who can help them deal with it. Unfortunately, life for these young women in the series is anything but sweet.”

The first book in the series is “Sade's Secret” which is written in first person allowing the reader to fully experience the emotional roller coaster as Sade describes current events and painful flashbacks.
