Follow on Google News | Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation Announce TV & Live Performances For STL Teen ShowcaseEighteen finalists to perform at major St. Louis events and have their Showcase performances broadcast on The Nine Network
By: Marquee Media and Marketing The finalists already have participated in the National Dance Week Celebration at Union Station on April 28th. The following events are currently scheduled with more dates to be added as they are finalized: Shakespeare Festival St. Louis: Forest Park May 27 Webster Groves Art & Air, Webster Groves, MO June 2 Shakespeare Festival St. Louis: Forest Park June 15 The Muny: Lichtenstein Plaza, St. Louis, June 20 Dancing in the Street Festival, St. Louis, September 29 On Monday, May 21st at 7 pm, the Nine Network will present an expanded 60-minute “Living St. Louis” program featuring the 2nd Annual St. Louis Teen Talent Showcase Competition. The Nine Network joined with the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation as an event partner to film the final Broadway style event as well as semi-final performances and contestant interviews. The program will re-air on Saturday, May 26th at 10:30am. The broadcasts are sponsored by St. Louis Community College. The Nine Network also loaned digital video cameras to students to document their journey through the competition. Candid behind-the-scenes footage was edited into short videos and posted online, giving the public an opportunity to hear directly from the students and get to know the performers as they went through the entire process. These videos can be viewed on the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation’s SchoolTube and YouTube channels and Facebook page. The distinguished panel of judges chose the following students for top honors this year: 1st place $7000 college scholarship went to “The Cotton Club” tap dancers Marquis Cooper, Virgil Fisher of Central VPA High School and DaJuan Johnson; the 2nd place $5000 college scholarship went to Hazelwood East High School’s hip-hop dancers “Super Sick Crew” Paul Springer, Anthony Pawnell, Corenlius Igwe and Lonnie Howard; the 3rd place $3000 scholarship went to juggler Kellin Quinn of Circus Harmony. The 3rd Annual St. Louis Teen Talent Showcase Competition will be held at the Fox Theatre on April 19, 2013. So teens…start practicing! We can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next year.
