May 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Modern professional couples are increasingly finding that their relationship is becoming an unexpected victim of busy times and the tough economic climate.  To help combat this, a Somerset-based relationship retreat is offering couples the opportunity to get away from it all and work on their relationship.

Run by professional coaches and counsellors, the retreat at Rossholme, East Brent, offers couples the opportunity to work in a relaxed but structured way with skilled practitioners, in order to build and strengthen their relationship.

The retreat takes place over a number of days and, away from the disturbances of modern day life, allows each person to unwind, relax and reconnect with the aspects of their partner which brought them together into a relationship in the first place.
In a small group setting, the couples are taken through a gradual, engaging and structured series of exercises, enabling the partners to explore what they both bring to the relationship, and how they can contribute to its growth.

Every good relationship requires time for work and play and, in recognition of this, everyone is also offered the opportunity to take part in other relaxing activities at the retreat.

Graham Norris, one of the practitioners running the retreat, said: “Couples can find it very difficult to make the decision that they need to talk about their relationship and then to find the time to actually do so.  By coming on one of our retreats, they can take the opportunity to realise that, by working together, they can enhance their life and relationship and successfully work towards shared goals.”

The retreat is residential, with couples staying in high quality accommodation at Rossholme. Meals and activities on site are all included in the price.

David Patterson, another of the practitioners running the retreat, explained the value of the experience: “The value of a retreat stems from the name itself. It is an experience where couples can step back for a moment and reflect on those aspects of their life which they value and cherish, as well as identifying what they would like to improve and change.”
