He’s a former Army Colonel and at one time headed the Pentagon’s top briefing team, responsible for the daily intelligence presentation to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Because of his speaking skills, he was later detailed by the White House to the State Department where he subsequently spoke and debated almost 400 times on controversial foreign policy issues before some of the most demanding, even hostile, audiences in the country, leading to President Reagan calling him “an extraordinarily effective speaker.”
He has been cited as one of the top presentation skills trainers/coaches in the country in publications such as the Information Please Business Almanac and Sourcebook, published by Houghton-Mifflin, Best of the Best, published by Insight Publishing, and What to Say When… You’re Dying on the Platform, published by McGraw-Hill. He conducts workshops for corporations and government agencies, and trains corporate teams to deliver winning oral presentations for government and commercial contracts. He has recently conducted “Briefing Training” for the Navy’s Seal Team Six.
Here is a sample of what others have said of Larry’s speaking and coaching:
“You have been a splendid spokesman for America...an extraordinarily effective speaker... meeting with hundreds of audiences at the White House and in communities across the country, as well as abroad.” President Ronald Reagan
“In a Department that prides itself on its communication skills; you became the standard to match in public oratory.” Ambassador Otto Reich, U.S. Department of State
"Larry Tracy is one of the most articulate advocates I've ever seen operate on the platform. He's crisp and clear, his logic and thinking first-rate. As a speech coach myself, I continue to learn from him." John Jay Daly, Founder of the National Capital Speakers Association
