May 18, 2012 - PRLog -- From time to time we all like a bit of peace and quiet – especially at night time.  There is nothing worse than having to close off ventilation because of external noise, as reducing ventilation can cause health problems as well as damage to your home.  Rytons acoustic ventilation reduces noises up to 68dB (depending on the type of noise) and achieves an average rating of 42dB n,e,w, whilst still providing essential fresh air to your home.

The number of official noise related complaints has increased more than 300% over the last few years, making them the majority of complaints to local authorities. Approximately 4,000,000 people in Britain feel they suffer from noisy neighbours and almost a quarter of occupants of dwellings rate their privacy as poor or very poor as a result of inadequate sound insulation. The amount of brown field sites is also growing with residential developments very close to railway lines, motorways, airports , industrial estates and other noisy areas. But how do you get adequate ventilation into a building with minimum noise transmission?

Rytons acoustic products meet the requirements of The Building Regulations Approved Document E (Resistance to the passage of sound).  Rytons believe it shouldn’t be necessary to sacrifice the appearance of the building, for the provision of effective and vital ventilation under Part F of The Building Regulations (Means of ventilation), in order to meet these requirements. Rytons have designed and manufactured acoustic versions of their popular 125mm and 150mm Diameter AirCore® Ventilators, ’9×3′ AirLiners®, ’9×6′ AirLiners® and ’9×9′ AirLiners® that appear exactly as normal from the outside and to the occupier of the building, but in fact hide an intricate and efficient system of acoustic panels and foam which greatly reduce the amount of sound transferred.

Not only is there a variety of styles and sizes, but also a wide range of colours as standard and a choice of suitable fitments for the inside i.e. adjustable Hit & Miss Vent for background venting or fixed open Louvre Vent for appliance venting – ensuring the safety of the building’s occupants whilst still improving levels of sound insulation between one building and another, and within buildings.

Rytons Acoustic High Rise AirCore® range can even be retrofitted entirely from the inside of the building – ideal for existing high rise situations. However, Rytons don’t just expect you to just take their word for it – our acoustic range is British Board of Agrément approved and the Louvre range is also HETAS approved. This means that Rytons have the only ventilators recommend to HETAS registered engineers. All acoustic products have been fully tested by the Building Research Establishment with comprehensive test data freely available, and the original Telescopic Acoustic AirLiner® received an Innovation Award from the BBA when it was launched in 2002. The Acoustic range has been accredited with a calculated Equivalent Area – as we know from the last blog post this only way to calculate your ventilation correctly to comply with Building Regulations Part J (http://www.vents.co.uk/blog/index.php/whats-the-differenc...).

Rytons acoustic range has been used by major house builders including Charles Church Developments, Countryside Properties, Bryant Homes Social Housing, Bellway Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Barratt Homes and Redrow Homes. They have also been successfully installed in many non-domestic situations including City Airport Travelodge, London E16 and Tesco’s Stores, Islington Green, London N1. They have even travelled further afield across the world providing quiet and discreet ventilation in Australia, America, Canada and Brazil.
