By: Point Media The event will be held at St. John the Theologian Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 353 East Clinton Avenue in Tenafly, New Jersey. The price is $35 per person which includes an authentic, homemade German meal; entertainment by Schuhplattler Dancers, a traditional German folk dance troupe; and a silent auction featuring a variety of exciting goods. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available online at www.GiantsofGenerosity.org or at the front desk of the Clinton Inn Hotel in Tenafly. Checks with ticket requests can also be sent to Giants of Generosity, 201 Piermont Road, #16, Cresskill, New Jersey 07626. Founded in 2007 by D. Jane Albanese, Giants of Generosity’s mission is to respond to the most pressing needs of people in our own communities who are experiencing critical, life-altering situations and have nowhere else to turn. The non-profit organization has provided financial assistance, moral support, and connections to area resources to individuals and families facing extraordinarily difficult circumstances. It relies solely on donations to continue its work to “pay-it-forward.” “We are fortunate that one of our dedicated volunteers is originally from Germany and has experience in putting on this type of event,” said Albanese of the upcoming German Festival. “We’re all looking forward to having a lot of fun while raising money to continue meeting the needs of Bergen County residents who turn to Giants of Generosity for help.” In the past, the organization coordinated a home renovation for a newly disabled man, raised significant funds for a six-year-old girl with brain cancer, and paid the medical bills of a severely injured man who had come to the aid of a neighbor who was being attacked. Albanese said that a variety of requests for help come in weekly. In addition to its commitment to aid Bergen County residents, Giants of Generosity has recently extended its reach into Westchester County, New York through a joint venture with LEX-Cares, an all-volunteer entity of LEXCO Wealth Management in Tarrytown, New York.
