May 17, 2012- Cruz Pedregon Racing, an NHRA Nitro Funny Car Team, is pleased to announce that it has signed a multi-race associate sponsorship with Garmon’s Diesel performance. Garmon’s logo will debut on Pedregon’s Toyota Camry Nitro Funny car this weekend at the 24th Annual Dollar General NHRA Summernationals, held in Topeka, KS. In addition to the race in Topeka, the Garmon logo will appear on Pedregon’s car at the NHRA events held in Englishtown, NJ, Dallas, TX, and at the US Nationals held in Indianapolis, IN.
Amy Garmon stated, “Jeff and I are very proud to become sponsors of Cruz Pedregon Racing. Jeff and I are both avid drag racing fans and have been for many years. We have watched Cruz and his team for a long time and highly respect their hard work and dedication to the sport they love.” Amy went on further to say,” Cruz is one of the nicest and most humble racers I have ever met. His kind demeanor with his fans make him a champion to me every race. We are also very excited to see what this opportunity can bring to our business. Jeff has worked long and hard for many years engineering and designing engines and transmissions for diesel pickup applications that are a very high quality replacement to stock.”
Cruz is also excited about the relationship, stating,” We're welcoming Garmon’s Diesel Products on board for the Topeka event. We appreciate the small companies like Garmon’s giving the NHRA and our team an opportunity to showcase their products and online services. I'm a diesel guy from way back, working with my Dad, so when anyone talks diesel, they've got my attention. It's gonna be cool to have them on board for a few races this season..”
The events from this weekend’s race in Topeka can be seen on ESPN2:

About the NHRA: The NHRA is a drag racing governing body, which sets rules in drag racing and host events all over the United States and Canada. With over 80,000 drivers in its rosters, the NHRA is considered one of the largest motorsports sanctioning bodies in the world. The association was founded by Wally Parks in 1951 in the State of California to provide a governing body to organize and promote the sport of drag racing. The first nationwide NHRA sponsored event was held in 1955, in Great Bend, Kansas. (Typical for the era, this race was held on a World War II-constructed training air field.) The "Nationals", which now comprise 23 events each year, are the premier events in drag racing that bring together the best cars and drivers.
