By: LaunchHER Twin Cities attorney Kara Jensen Zitnick will be striking a studious pose at the Fashion Law Institute, fondly known as “Fashion Law Boot Camp,” at the Fordham Law School in Manhattan, New York from May 22 – June 1, 2012. The intensive camp is designed to teach “the substance of style” with emphasis on the current business and legal issues involving the global fashion industry. Topics covered will include intellectual property, business and finance, consumer culture, the protection of fashion designs, counterfeiting, licensing agreements, employment issues for designers to models, consumer protection, sustainability, and green fashion. Jensen Zitnick says, “As LaunchHER’s legal practice grows, we find our clients needing counsel in a variety of areas – all integral parts of operating a successful creative business. The 2011 launch of Fordham Law School’s Fashion Law Institute, just steps away from Lincoln Center, the home to New York Fashion Week, joins my two passions - law and fashion – and will expand my expertise in advising current and prospective creative clients. LaunchHER’s focus on women in creative business, and LaunchHER Legal’s expanded capabilities in the field of fashion law, will allow the firm to become a trusted advisor and solid resource to those currently operating in the field or fashion, or those just starting out. “From intellectual property to contracts to business formation, our firm is a trusted resource for women in creative business. I represent clients from across the country,” explains Jensen Zitnick. “This new field of expertise will allow us to expand our practice and assist a wider spectrum of creative clients in the Twin Cities and beyond.” ABOUT LaunchHER: Burnsville-based LaunchHER (www.launchHER.com) For press inquiries, please contact Kara at 612-524-7445.
