Follow on Google News | Brain Research Foundation to Fund Research Looking for Clues to Diseases That Affect Childres$40,000 seed grant from Associate Board will be used to explore causes of autism, attention deficit disorders, schizophrenia and other diseases
By: The Kineo Group Dr. Freedman’s work was first determined of high merit by the Brain Research Foundation’s Scientific Review Committee, a national group of well-respected neuroscientists that evaluates each grant proposal to determine the most promising new research projects in the field of neuroscience. The Committee selects those projects that will likely lead to extramural funding from the National Institutes of Health or other outside funding sources. BRF’s Associate Board then selected Dr. Freedman’s work because of the potential impact it can have on our understanding of a number of brain diseases including autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit disorder and schizophrenia. The Associated Board is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children with brain disorders and their families. Established to help innovative neuroscience researchers gather the data required to validate their hypotheses, the BRF Seed Grants are a critical first step in understanding neurological disorders. About the Brain Research Foundation The Brain Research Foundation supports cutting-edge neuroscience research that will lead to novel treatments and prevention of all neurological diseases in children and adults. We deliver this commitment through research grants, which provide initial funding for innovative projects, as well as educational programs for researchers and the general public.
