PC/104-Plus Dual Channel Gigabit Ethernet Module Connects to Embedded Networks

PRLog (Press Release) - May 16, 2012 - The PPM-GIGE-2 uses two Realtek RTL8110 Ethernet controllers which support a wide range of operating systems including Windows®, Linux, and other x86 real time operating systems. These onboard Gigabit Ethernet controllers combine a triple-speed, IEEE 802.3 compliant Media Access Controller (MAC) with a triple-speed Ethernet transceiver, 32-bit PCI bus controller, and embedded memory. With state of-the-art DSP technology and mixed-mode signal technology, it offers high-speed transmission over CAT 5 UTP cable. Functions such as crossover detection and auto-correction, polarity correction, adaptive equalization, cross-talk cancellation, echo cancellation, timing recovery, and error correction are implemented to provide robust transmission and reception capability at gigabit data speeds.

The PPM-GIGE-2 requires only +5 volts at 500 mA (2.5W).  It will operate from -40C to +85C.  The module measures 90mm x 96mm (3.6” x 3.8”) and weighs only 88 grams (3 ounces).
