Net2ez Attends Uptime Institute Symposium 2012

    Net2z attended the Uptime Institute Symposium in Santa Clara at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Hosted by 415 Research and the Uptime Institute, the event brought in data center experts from all over the United States as well as investors and data centers themselves!
A new trend at this year’s show was mobile data centers! IO Data Centers, out of Phoenix, and Active Power, displaying their “PowerHouse” system”, were amongst the companies who ventured to build a functional generator and data center inside of a cooled and powered mobile trailer. These permanent exhibits are transported with the two companies to their tradeshows and events.
This new feature is anticipated to show up in more tradeshows to come this year. Although extremely costly, it is an impeccable way to display the company’s product and services to the many experts and interests attending the shows.
The event schedule was packed with breakout sessions and featured speakers including Paul Bonaro, Data Center Facilities Manager at Yahoo! Jim Smith, one of the highlight speakers with Digital Realty Trust, gave a fascinating lecture on data center modulation and how quick a container can be turned up. The event ran from Monday, May 14th through Thursday, May 17th.
