LaMartina, also considered an expert in strength training for women, said in a recent interview that the site was built primarily as a free public service;
"I've watched the fitness industry take hit after hit online as spammers and other crooks seek to exploit people looking for real help. I felt like I had to do something about it, so I found a partner and we've spent months developing the right information and presenting it in an appealing, easy to understand way."
The website, which can be found at http://www.drinkinggames.me, is setup as a comprehensive blog focused on military physical fitness testing and training, as well as physical fitness for women and tips on weight loss. There is no advertising of any type on the website, and the home page features dozens of articles written by LaMartina himself.
"The site was just a natural way of blending two things that I'm passionate about: physical fitness and writing. It's not every day that you meet a guy that can bench press more than 600 pounds and write as well. But if you think that's cool, you should meet my partner."
LaMartina's partner and co-founder of the site is Russell Hudson; a black belt martial arts instructor and lifelong writer. Hudson was a Triple Crown state martial arts champion in Maine in 2007-2008.
"We're a pretty unique pair," Hudson said by telephone last week, "but we both have the same mission at the end of the day; to help people get fit, and stay fit. We want our loved ones - and yours - to be around for as long as possible and to be in good health while they're here. Physical fitness is the key to this lifetime goal."
