In previous years when the fixture was Saints and Sinners Racenight it attracted stars like Alexandra Burke, Stacey Solomon and Bjorn Again to Ayr, so Pixie (pictured above) is certainly following in famous footsteps.
Ayr Racecourse Sales and Marketing Manager Lindsey Smith said: “We promised that our June charity Racenight would carry on in its previous tradition of securing a big name act to entertain the crowd, and we feel Pixie Lott will fit the bill in that respect.
“She has already had three number ones and performs to sell-out audiences all over the world. Later this month she headlines the China Valley Music Festival in Beijing, so she is truly an international star.
“The STV Appeal Racenight is in aid of children’s charities and we aim to raise as much money as possible with what we feel is a surefire winner – a mix of racing and top quality music.”
In addition to Pixie’s appearance the Racenight is expected to attract a host of Scottish celebrities including television stars and footballers.
Tickets are available online at www.ayr-racecourse.co.uk or by calling 01292 264179 and there are discounts on tickets booked seven of more days in advance.
The STV Appeal works closely with six major Scottish charities – Aberlour, Action for Children, Barnardo’s Scotland, Children 1st, Save The Children Scotland and One Parent Families Scotland .
It is anticipated a huge amount of money will be raised for the STV Appeal, working to help children affected by poverty in Scotland. Launched in 2011 in association with The Hunter Foundation, last year the STV Appeal raised almost £1.3 million.
