The MOD Studio is Recognized as One of Three Winners in FedEX Pilot Program Contest

PRLog (Press Release) - May 16, 2012 - Austin, Texas – May 14, 2012 – The MOD Studio (http://www.themodstudio.com), a graphic and web design firm based in Austin, TX, announced it was selected as one of three winners in the FedEx+Me My Story: Austin program, launched in 2011. The reception, which was held May 11 at Highball in Austin, saw a total $30,000 in small business grants awarded to The MOD Studio and two other Austin businesses.

According to Maria Orozova, founder and CEO of The MOD Studio, three grants were awarded to 3 participants, based on participation and an essay submission.  “We’re thrilled and honored to win this wonderful prize from FedEx,” Orozova says. “The MyStory: Austin pilot program started out entirely social media driven and designed to see which participants could marshal the most people on Facebook to “Like” our brand on the FedEx contest page. It lasted one week and took our whole team and close friends pulling together to put us in the top five for our group. It was a lot of work but we came away with a better understanding of how to engage a broad audience in social media campaigns,” she adds.

Based on her company’s initial performance in obtaining “Likes”, Orozova was awarded a professionally produced video about The MOD Studio to share with her customers, prospects and network.

At the program’s conclusion, FedEx chose only 3 from among the 125 participants involved in the program to receive the small business cash grants. The MOD Studio, Mandarin Flower Company and Shimmer & Bliss were selected as the winners based on written submissions.

The MOD Studio received a total of $10,000 from the contest and, according to Orozova, all of it will go right back into the business. “The goal was to enter the FedEx+Me MyStory: Austin contest to come out stronger and better positioned to grow,” Orozova says. “We plan to reinvest the money into a variety of initiatives in the company, including the purchase of some newer technology.”
