Henry Campen Receives 2012 Commitment Award from SAFEchild

May 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Raleigh, NC – May15, 2012 ---- Henry C. Campen, Jr., a partner with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein in Raleigh, is the recipient of the 2012 Commitment Award by SAFEchild for his continuing commitment and dedication to the organization.

SAFEchild was founded in 1992 by the Junior League of Raleigh as a not-for-profit agency dedicated to preventing child abuse by helping adults and children create caring and nurturing home environments. SAFEchild honored Mr. Campen with the annual Commitment Award at its Swing Time for SAFEchild event this month.

“Henry’s commitment to SAFEchild is an inspiration,” said Majorie Menestres, executive director of SAFEchild. “He is organized, dependable and fun to work with. It is volunteers like Henry who remind us that others share our passion to prevent child abuse in Wake County.”

Mr. Campen has served on SAFEchild’s Board of Directors for six years and previously served a one-year term as Board Chair. He has headed fundraising campaigns, served as table captain for annual luncheons and most recently became a team leader for the Believe in SAFEchild campaign.

“This award is a testament to the commitment of our entire community to the safety and well-being of the children of Wake County,” Mr. Campen said. “The Commitment Award is a symbol of the dedication of the Junior League of Raleigh that founded SAFEchild and to the legions of volunteers over the years who have staffed SAFEchild’s programs to prevent child abuse and develop nurturing family relationships.”

Mr. Campen leads Parker Poe’s multidisciplinary Renewable Energy Practice and has been a successful advocate for regulated utility companies for more than 25 years.

In addition to his work with SAFEchild, Mr. Campen serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and is the Chair of the Board of the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University and recently spoke at the College’s graduation ceremony.
