University of Westminster wins British Fashion Council Fashion Illustration Award

May 16, 2012 - PRLog -- The University of Westminster was chosen from 25 other universities and colleges who submitted their graduates’ portfolios to showcase their work to high profile industry professionals. The prestigious prize includes two one year subscriptions to Fashion Monitor which will offer University of Westminster fashion students access to valuable industry contacts.

Illustration is part of the University of Westminster BA (Hons) Fashion Design degree course and its students were judged by a panel of industry experts, headed by Chair of the Colleges Council, Anne Tyrrell, along with Adam Kelly (Buying Manager, Selfridges), Hannah White (Editor, Fashion Monitor), Jacqui Ma (Senior Editor Footwear and Accessories, WGSN) and Marios Schwab.

Andrew Groves, course director of the University of Westminster's BA (Hons) Fashion Design, said: “Being awarded the British Fashion Council Fashion Illustration Award is a fantastic recognition of the hard work, talent and creativity of our students as well as their teachers. Richard Gray, who teaches Illustration at the University, has been an integral part of our fantastic team on the degree course and this award is a testament of his knowledge and passion for the subject he teaches.”
