Mr. Venkataramana, Executive Director, VMC Systems said, “XKNECT’s fiber interface based switches are ideal to be used when the distance between the users and the server exceeds 100 m and/or wherever electrical isolation is needed for applications such as industrial sites, campus, and secure government applications. Integration of these switches will allow network administrators to manage a single device using tools or the router command-line interface (CLI) for LAN and WAN management needs. This approach reduces network complexity and lowers maintenance cost.”
XKNECT’s UTP interface features a non-blocking switching architecture that filters and forwards packets at full wire-speed for maximum throughput. This is a plug and play device making the installation hassle-free. The switch has 1K MAC address table and provides 512Kb buffering capabilities. The auto MDI/MDI-X crossover on all ports eliminates the need for crossover cables or uplink ports. The switch also features diagnostic LEDs which display status and activity, allowing network administrators to quickly detect and correct problems on the network.
VMC’s XKNECT switches will be available in five different configurations – SW8-X0F8, SW8-X1F7, SW8-X2F6. They are designed for compactness and ease of installation - a key requirement for any SME or ISP.
VMC Systems, a market leader in telecom and power conversion product manufacturer in India has presently more than 60 products across different categories.
