Businesses Tap Broad Client Base at THABS

Companies wanting to expand and grow their businesses can do so by exploring cross-border trade and gaining international customers. This is the objective of businesses exhibiting at Tools, Hardware and Building Supplies (THABS) - part of the Southern African International Trade Exhibition (SAITEX).

“SAITEX enables us to reach a broader client base, especially people from other countries in Africa that we do not get at normal South African events,” says Rolf Bockermann, sole Southern African agent for Eisenkraft. Eisenkraft sells tools exclusively at exhibitions and will again be relying on SAITEX 2012 to drive sales.

Another exhibitor, Panmixers SA who has been exhibiting for the past four years, also looks forward to the prospect of attracting yet again new customers. “I like to see what African countries are doing in terms of concrete infrastructure. We want visitors to look at our equipment and think I could use that,” says Quintin Booysen, Marketing and Sales Manager at Panmixers SA, Africa’s largest manufacturer of concrete block, brick paving machinery, concrete pumps and planetary pan mixers.

Booysen considers exhibiting at SAITEX an integral part of ‘closing the loop’ for customers. He says, “It puts the customer in front of our products. It gives them the chance to touch and feel our products.” Panmixers SA will demonstrate its recently launched Fiori self-loading concrete mixer at this year’s show. According to Booysens, Panmixers SA achieved approximately R1,5 million in deals done at SAITEX 2011.

“THABS is a fantastic opportunity for building, construction and hardware companies to break into African as well as international markets. With over 6,141 visitors from 54 countries attending last year’s expo, exhibitors have the possibility to explore real new business opportunities,” says John Thomson, Managing Director of Exhibition Management Services (EMS).

THABS at SAITEX will cover many aspects of the tool, hardware and building sector, with international exhibitors offering a wide variety of the latest products, materials and technology to trade buyers.

Speaking ahead of this year’s expo, Bockermann says, “We will as usual use SAITEX to market our unique brand of metal bending equipment, allowing buyers to start a successful business in their area of expertise. We will have a few new models of our tools on display.”

Other items on display will include general hardware, power and hand tools, building materials, home and interior décor, garden and leisure products, adhesives and sealants, sanitary ware, paint and coatings, plumbing and bathroom accessories, fastening systems and accessories, locksmiths' products, industrial hardware, electrical equipment, automotive tools and accessories, timber and woodworking equipment and materials, metal and welding products, ladders, protective products and much more.

As a unique and free service offered by the organisers, SAITEX attendees have access to an easy-to-use internet-based business matchmaking programme, providing exhibitors and visitors with the ability to pre-profile, pre-select and pre-schedule meetings for all three days of both shows. Visitors can pre-register to visit on www.exhibitionsafrica.com. They can also preview products profiles on this site.

SAITEX takes place from 15 to 17 July 2012 at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Gauteng. To see what SAITEX and AB7 is all about, view the 2011 event video on You Tube – simply go to www.youtube.com and in the top search window type ‘Saitex 2011’.
