Bergen County NJ Bicycle Tour is June 3rd in Paramus

May 16, 2012 - PRLog -- The 8th Annual Bergen County Bicycle Tour will be held on Sunday June 3, 2012 at Bergen Community College, 400 Paramus Road in Paramus, New Jersey – Lot B.

Routes for this major North Jersey cycling event go through as many as 16 towns in Bergen County including Paramus, Glen Rock, Ridgewood, Waldwick, Washington Township, Allendale, Westwood, Norwood, Northvale, Closter, Cresskill, Demarest, Tenafly, Harrington Park, Park Ridge, River Vale and Hillsdale.

The aim of the ride is to get families and individual cyclist to ride for "Fun and Health". The tour is sponsored by the Bicycle Touring Club of North Jersey (BTCNJ) and co-sponsored by Bergen Community College, Bergen County Executive Kathleen Donovan, and the NJ Bike & Walk Coalition. All receipts net of expenses will be donated to both Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon (AASP) and for scholarships for students at Bergen Community College (BCC).

AASP’s mission is to improve the morale of our troops by sending care cartons, engaging in special projects, visiting our wounded warriors and doing all they can to support the military of the United States and their families.

The tour is for cyclists of all ages and skill levels. Children 12 and under should be accompanied by parent and/or guardian. Helmets are required to ride. Cyclists from the Bicycle Touring Club of North Jersey (BTCNJ) will lead rides during the Tour.

Preregistration ($15 per cyclist) is suggested by May 30th. Registration on day of event ($20) is OK as well.

Each route will begin at the following times:

45-Mile at 8:00 am

25-Mile at 8:30 am

12-Mile at 9:00 am

5-Mile at 10:30 am.

Please come at least half hour before your event. Registration fee includes water, snacks and lunch plus bike related giveaways.
