PRLog - May 15, 2012 - AYR, U.K. -- Ayrshire, Scotland, 15 May 2012--Aspiring Open Champions are once again invited to play at one of the world’s best loved golf resorts with their Dads as Turnberry’s annual Father’s Day Golf Tournament returns on Sunday 17 June.
Turnberry hails the return of a family favourite - the Father’s Day Golf Event
Turnberry, the Luxury Collection resort that is home to the world-famous golf links, is offering proud Dads the opportunity to take to the course in a fun-filled competition which is open to all. Competitors will play the Kintyre Course and can compete with their son, daughter or any family relative.
The Father’s Day Golf Tournament makes a fantastic family experience for Dads to enjoy Turnberry on one of the most popular family days of the year. A delicious Sunday Brunch will also be available for all the family to enjoy after the competition.
In addition to the great prizes that will be on offer for the best team of two on the day, this year’s event includes a special “hole in one” prize of an Audi A1, courtesy of the Lomond Audi Group, for any player able to hit home in one shot.
Entry for the Turnberry Father’s Day Golf Tournament is £79 per team of two, which includes tea/coffee and bacon rolls on arrival and the round on the Kintyre Course. Sunday Brunch is available in Turnberry’s signature restaurant, 1906, at an additional £35 per adult and £17.50 per child.
Chris Card, Director of Golf at Turnberry, commented on the event: “Many great golfers have a story to tell about how their Fathers got them into the game. Playing a round at Turnberry with your Dad makes for one of the best experiences you can have as a junior golfer and gives budding golfers a memory to treasure.”
“Turnberry is becoming increasingly popular with families, thanks to our wide range of outdoor activities and the creation of the new self-catering Lands of Turnberry apartments at the resort.
“The Father’s Day Golf Tournament is another great opportunity for families to visit the resort and spend a leisurely day on the golf course or enjoy the culinary delights of the hotel.”
The tournament adds to a number of great golf offers available at Turnberry this Spring and Summer, including the highly popular Sunset Golf tee times. These reduced rates are available from 3pm, seven days a week, until 30 September 2012 with a round on the Open Championship Course, the Ailsa, costing £95 per person.
