May 15, 2012 - PRLog -- "The C-Loader has successfully completed its first year in operation reaching over 10,000 containers loaded with lumber. This proves the success of the design and its suitability to the requirements of busy 3PL/Transloader facilities"

Seattle, WA—(May 15,2012) - - Container Stuffers LLC and Quickload CEF Inc., today announced that the world’s  first C-Loader in operation at Quickload Transload in Prince Rupert, B.C has completed its first year in service by reaching over 10,000 40’ containers loaded. “The C-Loader has contributed significantly to the growth and productivity of our company, by allowing us to load containers three to four times faster than can be done with forklifts, while enabling us to significantly improve yard safety,” said Matt Holland, President of Quickload. “The C-Loader gives us a competitive edge by allowing us to offer our customers no damage to package wrapping or product, weight reports to ensure load optimization (and no overweight containers), rapid reporting to shipping customers regarding loading status, energy efficient loading as a result of fewer lift trucks required per load which is environmentally friendly,” he commented. “The C-Loader fully met our expectations for reliability, strength and speed, in our outdoor yard, throughout the year.”

The Port of Prince Rupert is North America's closest port to key Asian markets by up to three days - its 36 hours closer to Shanghai than Vancouver and over 68 hours closer than Los Angeles. The Port’s strategic location and growing trade capacity gives shippers a powerful competitive edge in the global economy. Recently celebrating its 40th anniversary, the growth in cargo traffic has been extraordinary with over 19 million tons of cargo shipped in 2011 compared to 1.9 million tons in 1978. 2011’s banner year included record exports of forest, coal and grain products to China, Japan and Korea.  In particular the number of loaded containers shipped out through Prince Rupert was up 59 per cent from 2010, with much of the growth attributed to strong exports of B.C. forest products to the expanding Chinese market.

The C-Loader is specifically designed to load dunnaged or palletized goods into containers. As forklifts load an entire 55-60,000 lbs. onto the ruggedly constructed load platform, the C-Loaders’ built in load scale weighing and balance system allows the operator to control the weight and balance to within desired limits. The load is transferred into the container in one smoothly controlled operation lasting less than 4 minutes. One big design advantage of the C- Loader is that it minimizes damage to the product being loaded as well as to the containers themselves. Moreover, the C-Loader eliminates the high maintenance costs incurred by using forklifts in an application for which they were not designed; one of the key uncontrolled costs in this business.

“We are proud that Quickload, one of the key players in the most rapidly growing Port in North America chose our innovative design over more conventional cargo loading alternatives. The C-Loader has contributed both to their growth and to the growth in the Port by enabling them to improve their productivity while offering their customers less product and package damage. We could not be more excited of the way the C-Loader has performed in their operation because loading lumber in a yard in Prince Rupert in all weathers is a tough challenge for any equipment,” commented David Haywood, CSL’s Director of Sales and Marketing.”

Since the Fairview Terminal opening in 2007, Quickload has expanded its business from owning a state of the art container examination facility on Ridley Island, expanding into a transloading operation stuffing containers with lumber and other goods for export as well as unloading containers for transport by truck across North America.

Container Stuffers is a design and manufacturing company that builds general cargo and log loading equipment that dramatically reduces the time to load a trailer (open or enclosed) and shipping containers in 4 minutes . The company designed their equipment with the vision in mind of revolutionizing the way containers themselves are stuffed and so completing the containerization revolution that Malcom McLean started. CSL’s K-Loader and C-Loader designs eliminate the need for a forklift driver to ever enter a container or enclosed trailer thereby eliminating the danger from Carbon Monoxide fumes, premature departure accidents, floor collapse and other hazards related to the container or enclosed truck loading process.
