Volpe and Koenig Associate Elected to Serve on Three National and Local Boards

May 15, 2012 - PRLog -- PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA (May 15, 2012) – Volpe and Koenig, P.C., an intellectual property boutique law firm with offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Princeton, New Jersey, announced today that Associate Aneesh A. Mehta was recently elected to the North American South Asian Bar Association (NASABA) Board as Vice President of Memberships, as well as two separate board positions at the Young Lawyers Division for both the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations.  NASABA’s mission beyond serving as a bar association includes providing a vital link between South Asian lawyers and the South Asian community across North America.

Mehta’s post as Vice President of Memberships on the NASABA Board is a one-year term that will commence July 1, 2012.  He has been involved with NASABA for five years and also served as Co-Chair of the Sponsorship Committee for the upcoming 2012 NASABA Convention, which will be held in Philadelphia June 28-30, 2012.  A member of both the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations, Mehta was appointed to serve a one-year term as Zone 1 Chair for the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division commencing May 9, 2012.  He is also the Chair-Elect for the Philadelphia Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division since January 2012, and his one-year term as Chair will begin in January 2013.
 
Mehta specializes in patent prosecutions, licensing, due diligence studies, and intellectual property litigation.  His patent prosecution experience focuses on electrical devices and wireless systems for both domestic and foreign clients.  Mehta is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  He earned his J.D. at Rutgers University School of Law, and both his M.S. in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on communications and electronic circuits, and B.S. in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on semiconductor devices, from the University of Florida.  Mehta has also recently earned his LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from Temple University's Beasley School of Law.
