HIGH SCHOOL SHOW May 22–June 10, 2012. The opening reception is Thursday, May 24, from 6:00-8:00pm. Scholarships will be awarded at 7:00pm. For over twenty-five years, the Concord Art Association has exhibited the work of Concord-Carlisle High School (CCHS) students who have taken art classes at the school. Each year, scholarships are awarded to seniors demonstrating exceptional portfolios; this year the scholarships are partly funded by a gift from Cambridge Savings Bank. The art department at CCHS includes architecture, drawing, ceramics, painting, photography, sculpture, digital imaging and digital video production. These courses have introductory and advanced levels so that students can take foundation experience from the introductory courses and work more independently towards a personal artistic vision in advanced courses. Since its founding in 1917, the Concord Art Association has promoted and advanced contemporary art through exhibitions, lectures and classes. It also maintains a small permanent collection of art produced by leading early 20th century artists. It is located at 37 Lexington Road, Concord, MA. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10:00am–4: End
