The wait is over! Avengers worth the wait.

PRLog (Press Release) - May 15, 2012 - The Avengers movie opens today.  I sure hope that the movie lives up to it’s hype.  I have a feeling it will, but I maybe an easier audience to win over.  I am a comic enthusiast not an aficionado.  Which means I do not get overly upset when a movie does not follow true to the comic book it is based on.  I will leave the debate and review  for other blogs.  Here instead are some things you may or may have not known about The Avengers.

Fun Facts:

·         The Avengers comic was first published in 1963 and was created by writer/editor Stan Lee and artist/co-writer Jack Kirby

·         The Avengers No.#1 Featured Thor, Iron Man, Ant-Man and Wasp battling Loki

·         Writer and director, Joss Whedon, wanted to include a second villain in the movie

·         There was a previous Avengers movie done in 1998.  It was a British movie with the likes of Sean Connery and Uma Thurman
·         Hulk in The Avengers movie is not played by either of the previous actors who have brought the character to the big screen- Edward Norton or Eric Bana.  Instead he is played by Mark Ruffalo.
·         The movie is rumored to have cost $220 million



As the summer progresses the super hero smack down with continue with The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises.  To look forward to in 2013 is Iron Man 3 and Thor 2. Talk of solo stand-alone movies for Hawkeye and Black Widow.
