May 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Nearly five years have passed since a group of friends and neighbors in Atlanta broke ground to build the first pediatric hospital in Kilgali. - a country ravished by the horrors of the 1994 genocide while the whole world remained silent.  Bound together in love through a 25 year family friendship with Simon and Kedress Nziramakenga, the founders of One Hundred Days remain committed to the mission,  to help communities create sustainable solutions by meeting the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of the people. They have received national media recognition for their work, being featured on CNN and in February they received news from Little Pink Book, America's #1 Digital Platform for Women, they were chosen as their top nonprofit and would be recognized at their 3rd Annual Spring into Ownership Women's Conference that will take place at the InterContinental Buckhead on May 30th which historically has held a raffle for chosen nonprofits supporting women and girls that have totaled over $10k in years past. Admission is only $50 for those affiliated with One Hundred Days.

Kelli Sasser, co-founder of One Hundred Days was featured in the "Top Women in Philanthropy" article which led to a vote-off that got them the win. Caroline Cox, Senior Editor of Little PINK Book says "It's one thing to give to charity or volunteer on weekends. But, it's entirely another to dedicate your life to assisting those in need and improving people's lives. It was evident by the outpouring of support One Hundred Days received they should be chosen as our sole nonprofit this year."

Kelli shares, "Almost all of our funding comes from friends and family members who have 'caught a vision' of how we can offer our core values to people who are in life-threatening need. Our core values include trusted partnerships, sustainable solutions, holistic transformation, passionate service and transforming beauty."  She continues, "Friends fueled by trust and friendship have helped build a community - here and in Rwanda. We have had several multi-thousand dollar gifts, but the majority has accrued in very small donations closer to $100. We have raised more than $300,000 and only need about $140,000 before we're ready to see our first children! Being recognized by Little PINK Book and the opportunity this presents to us is an answered prayer."

With Little Pink Book raffle proceeds totaling over $10k in previous years plus many planned fundraisers set for the remainder of the year - a bi-continent golf tournament scheduled for Birmingham in June, The University of Georgia creating an OHD chapter on campus to help with raising funds preparing to launch in the Fall and a documentary of their journey, the Founders of One Hundred Days believe they are on target to open the doors to the hospital this year.

About One Hundred Days

One Hundred Days is a 501(c)3 non-profit founded by a group of friends and neighbors in Atlanta, GA who were compelled by Christ to play a role in the restoration of Rwanda.  Although we have a high level of expertise in global health and African culture, we believe that the best solutions come from trusted partnerships with indigenous leaders.  Therefore we currently are partnering with Simon and Kedress Nziramekanga of the Good Shepherd Community Church in Kigali to build the only pediatric health care facility in Rwanda.
