Willow Creek Laundromat celebrates 26th Anniversary

May 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Willow Creek Laundromat, a family owned and operated self-service coin laundry, celebrated its 26th year of serving the Chapel Hill and Carrboro area.  

“Twenty six years is a major milestone for any local businesses,” said Manager Pat Nelson, who started the company with her husband Charlie in March 1986. “Our goal is to provide a clean, bright environment for out of town visitors, local residents and for those who want the convenience of large capacity washers and driers.  We offer free wifi for those who bring laptops, tablets or smartphones.  We also offer Wash, Dry and Fold service.”  

The 2,500 square foot space in the Willow Creek Shopping Center is both large enough to offer the largest and most modern self service laundry equipment as well as have work areas with plenty of elbow room for customers.  Over the past five years Willow Creek Laundromat has made three strategic upgrades, beginning with the addition of free WiFi and the recent replacement of major laundry equipment.  

Pat and Charlie Nelson have always been leaders in the community, having been long-time members of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce and with Charlie serving as a past Board Chair of both the PTA Thrift Shop and the Chamber.

According to Pat: “The next 26 years will be even more rewarding because we have a wonderful customer base and our Wash, Dry, Fold service is a blessing to residents and visitors with very busy schedules.  We have been told that folks like us because they can start the washer and then grab a bite a one of our restaurants, then transfer their clothes to a dyer while they shop for the week at Food Lion.  They like the fact that they can do more than just their laundry here.  It may seem simple, but our customers, especially the coeds, like the security we offer, there is always an employee here to make change and provide help if they need it added to the fact that we have a well-lit parking lot."
