PRLog - May 15, 2012 - The TRML-3D radar is unique in that it is highly mobile and concentrates on the small, slow and low flying objects that are often difficult to detect.
The technology is currently in service with the armed forces in Luthuania, the Netherlands and Malaysia.
It is being demonstrated this week at the Black Sea Defence Aerospace Exhbition in Bucharest. Romania.
Cassidian has been developing technology in the field of medium range surveillance and target acquisition radars for both air and ground applications and TRML-3D is leading the way in this area of sensors that are used to enhance mission intelligence
Below is more information outlining other exhibits on show.
CASSIDIAN at the Black Sea Defence Aerospace (BSDA)
Product portfolio exhibited in Bucharest from 16-18 May 2012
Cassidian, one of the four pillars of EADS, presents a selection of its range of defence and security solutions at the Black Sea Defence Aerospace (BSDA). Cassidian is a leading global provider of security solutions and integrated security systems for the civil and military markets, directly applicable to the defence & security needs of this important region. Cassidian is developing the technologies of the future, drawing on its key competencies in aerospace, security, defence and services. Cassidian will present its capabilities focused around its capabilities as a provider of fully integrated modular solutions to protect people, territories and manage the design, implementation and delivery of products and solutions.
Cassidian presents its technological progress by staging interactive, latest-generation scenarios projected in 3D in the so-called TouchLab. In its TouchLab, Cassidian is presenting scenarios featuring various situations and presenting its customers with a display in an interactive environment of its unique innovative solutions that have been developed to meet the challenges of the future. A border protection scenario is showcasing Cassidian's key expertise in lead systems integration, which is the basis of the Cassidian offering to customers for optimum territorial protection. Cassidian is currently the prime contractor of the most advanced integrated border protection systems, for instance, for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Romania. The border and national security systems are integrated into C4ISR systems (Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance)
Cassidian will demonstrate its experience in protecting highly sensitive and complex networks through another Touchlab scenario illustrating critical national infrastructures. Indeed, in an increasingly computerised world, critical infrastructures can only operate to maximum effect if they are interconnected and interdependent. The failure of just one link in the chain can have consequences extending far beyond national borders. One of the challenges in the future will therefore be to protect these infrastructures against cyber attacks. The scenario shown simulates a cyber attack on an oil rig and the proposed solutions to protect and ward off the threat, particularly with the aid of the CymeriusTM solution. CymeriusTM is a system for monitoring and controlling cyber attacks, collecting information at a central location and alerting each player involved so that they can respond to any invasion on a short notice. Protecting personal or sensitive information assures the credibility of those trusted with guarding important information. Cassidian's cryptography solutions facilitate that service for the data guardians. The ECTOCRYP family includes small form factor versions and versions that are being exported and models are shown at BSDA.
Sensors for Mission Intelligence
In the field of Defence, Cassidian concentrates on medium range surveillance and target acquisition radars for both air and ground applications. On display is Cassidian's proven TRML-3D ground radar, which is in service with the armed forces of Lithuania, the Netherlands and Malaysia. The highly mobile radar is able to detect, track and classify various types of targets with a particular focus on small, slow and low-flying objects such as drones, helicopters and missiles.
