Attero partners with NDTV Greenathon for India Recycle Day

Attero, India’s only integrated electronic waste management company, partnered with NDTV Toyota Greenathon to participate in India Recycle Day on 20th May’2012 in four cities.
 
May 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Strengthening its commitment towards addressing the perils of e-waste, Attero, India’s only integrated electronic waste management company, partnered with NDTV Toyota Greenathon to participate in India Recycle Day on 20th May’2012 in four cities.

The Awareness and collection drive will be carried out by NDTV Greenathon, with the aim to set up recyclable waste collection centers across the country on 20th May’12. People in four cities will be able to get their e waste recycled. This year they are targeting: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore. For the same they have tied up with Attero as their E waste recycler partner. Attero will be present in all the above mentioned locations and handling e waste collection for Greenathon. People across these 4 cities will be invited to come out and participate in the recycling drive by depositing their recyclable waste – be it Plastic (bags and bottles), metal, paper, tetrapak cartons or e-waste. The endeavor is not to preach, but get as many citizens to come out and participate.

The NDTV-Toyota Greenathon has been receiving great response so far. The initiative began on 20th April’12 some of the generous supporters of the campaign with both their time and donations were Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Shahid Kapoor, Rahul Bose. Actor Milind Soman ran 550 km in 15 days to raise awareness for the environment. Also supporting the Greenathon are Former Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh and Dr Farooq Abdullah, Minister for New and Renewable Energy.

According to various research reports India’s e-waste generation is growing at the rate of 15% and is expected to cross 800,000 tonne mark by 2012. By 2015, 2 billion PCs are expected to invade our homes and our mobile subscriber base is expected to be about 450 million subscribers. Attero has stepped into the space to address this issue in an environmentally friendly manner.
