First Annual Winter Park Dog Walk Announces Additional Sponsors

PRLog (Press Release) - May 14, 2012 - Organizers of the first annual Winter Park Dog Walk announced today that Bark Busters, Dog Day Afternoon, Paws Calls and Woof Gang Bakery of Winter Park complete the list of event co-sponsors.

“Many of our co-sponsors will have exhibits at the Dog Walk. This is a great opportunity for the public to discover pet related services and meet the dedicated people behind them,” said Judy Charuhas, event coordinator and executive director of WinterParkLostPets.com.

Dr. Tiffany Jamieson, DVM, of Paws Calls (www.PawsCalls.com) will be at the Dog Walk to answer pet care questions. Paws Calls provides affordable in-home veterinary services. In-home checkups are ideal for pet owners who don’t have the ability to drive to a vet or have a pet that becomes stressed and anxious when visiting a vet clinic.

ASK THE TRAINER

Representatives of Bark Busters (www.BarkBusters.com), the world’s largest dog training company, will provide training tips for puppies and adult dogs — and prove it’s never too late to teach an old dog (or an old dog-owner) new tricks. Find out what a personal trainer can do for your pooch.

PET RETAILERS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS

Several local pet related businesses will be on hand to showcase their services. Day Afternoon (www.DogDayAfternoon.net) provides dog daycare services. Woof Gang Bakery of Winter Park (www.WoofGangBakery.com) will have samples of their famously tasty and wholesome pet treats.

FREE MICROCHIP PET ID

Free microchip IDs will be available to the first 100 paid registrants who request this service. The microchip is provided courtesy of Orange County Animal Services. WinterParkLostPets.com is underwriting the microchip lifetime registration fee.

RABIES VACCINATIONS JUST $3

For a $3 donation to The Lost Pets Foundation, pet owners can purchase 3-year rabies vaccination vouchers available from CheapShots mobile clinic. Vouchers are good for 6-months from the date of purchase and redeemable at CheapShots locations throughout Central Florida. The first annual Winter Park Dog Walk is presented Veterinary Emergency Clinic of Central Florida and will be held May 19, 2012, at the Cady Way Trail, Phase 1, in Winter Park. The public is encouraged register online at WPdogwalk.com or in person during the event. The $20 registration fee benefits The Lost Pets Foundation and includes a t-shirt for the dog walker and a doggie goodie bag filled with items provided by the event co-sponsors.

THE LOST PETS FOUNDATION was formed by WinterParkLostPets.com to help pets in need, to support local pet rescue efforts, and to expand public awareness of important services such as microchips, pet ID, low-cost vaccinations, and spay and neuter. The Winter Park Dog Walk (WPdogwalk.com) is the Foundation’s first fundraising event.
