Our name is in honor of Amanda, a beautiful bay quarter horse under the care of our President and founder, Sheila Campbell. Amanda had problems with her knees and also was chronically foundered. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit dedicated to helping horses like Amanda, recover as best as they can from founder and other hoof ailments. Each horse is given individual care and the time and resources necessary to allow the hoof to heal effectively and give the horse another chance at a comfortable, long life.
To help rehabilitate our rescued horses, we focus on providing the four fundamental aspects of a horse's natural lifestyle- diet, exercise, hoof care, and environment.
Amanda's Foundered Friend Horse and Equine Rescue (AFF) receives a number of requests from horse owners to help them find a good home for their horse(s). Reasons for relinquishment vary from inability to afford appropriate care to calls of horses abandoned in fields and BLM land. Community support is the best way to enable to us to afford to take these horses under our wing, and help them heal.
We are reaching out to the community to ask for item donations for our yard sale. Donations are being accepted through May 25th, 2012. Yard sale will be held on May 26th and 27th on Kokopelli Drive in Fruita, Colorado. Please contact us for more details at firstname.lastname@example.org or 970-640-9524.
