Lilly sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby animal hospital where doctors were forced to amputate one of her legs. She also suffered a broken pelvis and needed steel plates put into her back leg. Despite her injuries, Lilly is expected to make a full recovery.
“This is such a wonderful gift to Lilly and my family!” says David Lanteigne, Christine’s son. David adopted Lilly from a Boston-area rescue a few years ago as a companion for his mother. David continues, “Lilly is normally a very picky eater. We hope that with a high quality food like this, Lilly will now look forward to dinner time.” She will be released from the hospital in the next few days.
“We were so touched by this story and Lilly’s bravery,” says Marco Giannini, DOGSWELL Founder and CEO, “we want to do everything we can to help in her recovery. We hope by providing high quality food we can speed up the healing process and help her get back to life.”
Lilly’s family will work closely with her doctors and DOGSWELL to make sure she gets the best care and nutrition on her road to recovery. David adds, “Lilly has a very strong nature and we’re sure that she’ll be back to running and spinning soon enough.”
