Cora Holmes, Award-Winning Author Completes Shoot on “The Balancing Act” on Lifetime TV
“Time of the Otter” is set against the backdrop of the remote and naturally wild Aleutian Islands
(Pompano Beach, FL – May 11, 2012) Cora Holmes, award-winning author and resident of Alaska for over 25 years, completed her filming for the hit morning TV show “The Balancing Act.” The segment will feature Holmes’ new book, “Time of the Otter” ” and will air as part of the show’s “My Weekend Fridays” series in May on Lifetime Television.
“Time of the Otter” is set against the backdrop of the remote and naturally wild Aleutian Islands off the coast of Alaska, where Holmes has made her home for more than two decades.
Holmes will share with “The Balancing Act” viewers the storyline of her book which features Kate Browning, a marine biologist who discovers a letter that takes her on a journey of a lifetime. The story continues with Kate’s attempt to save an injured sea otter and her plunge into an alternate reality to a prehistoric village.
The story is a fantasy built off an ancient Aleut legend of the otter, a legend suppressed by the invading Russians and their Russian Orthodox Church, in a successful effort to subjugate rather than assimilate the Aleut culture.
