PRLog - May 10, 2012 - Being a mom brings unparalleled joy and happiness. From conception, through the journey of pregnancy till the day of birth, the bond with the child and the love grows stronger with each passing day. Together with the joy comes the many challenges of motherhood. Caring for a typically developing child is challenging, the challenges multiply many times more when the child has medical conditions and disabilities.
A mother's love gives the strength to do the impossible. This Sunday, as Mother's Day is being celebrated around the world,Hearty SPIN will like to pay tribute to a special group of mothers - mothers of children with autism.
Many children with autism have speech impairment or delay, impacting their ability to communicate effectively which often lead to behavioral issues as their needs are not being understood by others. Children with autism often do not appear 'different' from other kids. As such, many mothers of autistic children experienced hurtful, judgmental comments being passed on them from people unfamiliar with the autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) condition.

“A mother's unconditional love, patience and perseverance can make all the differences in improving the condition of a child with autism. It's a long, challenging journey and all mothers who do their best every single day, deserve our greatest respect.” said KhengWah Koh, founder of Hearty SPIN.
To all mothers of children with special needs, have a special, joyful Mother's Day, you truly deserve to celebrate this day.
Happy Mother's Day!
