By: Atlantic City Kiwanis “Gary, Catherine and Tim have devoted countless hours of hard work and dedication to achieving excellence in community service,” said Shannon Murphy, President of Kiwanis Club of Atlantic City and Chair of the Key Awards project. “We are inspired by men and women with a passion to improve their communities and we are proud to recognize their efforts with these awards.” Gary Hill is the founder and past chairman of the MBCA Scholarship Foundation, as well as co-founder of the Schultz-Hill Foundation. He is active in numerous charitable events and fundraisers, including serving on the Board of Directors for Bacharach Institute Foundation, AtlantiCare Foundation, New Jersey Shore Arts Foundation, Atlantic City Day Nursery, Jewish Family Services, Columbus Day Committee, Ensign John R. Elliot Foundation, Caring Inc., Advisory Board of the Main Street, the Lloyd D. Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism and is Commissioner and Vice Chairman/Secretary of the Atlantic City Municipal Authorities. Catherine Quinlan has been active in the Girl Scouts, serving as a leader for 18 years. She has been an active member of the Brigantine Chamber of Commerce for 30 years, serving as both Secretary and the current Treasurer. She coordinates the Brigantine Telephone Directory and has helped organize Santa's arrival in Brigantine for 20 years. She is also a member of the Sons of Italy, the Brigantine Lions Club, the Republican Club, the Brigantine PTA, the Brigantine Events Committee, and a charter member of the True Spirit Coalition. Tim Glenn is an active volunteer in Linwood, supporting the local sports activities with both his time and financial support. He has served on the Superintendent's Advisory Board for the Linwood School District. Aside from these accomplishments, Tim is also a member of the Board of Directors of the AtlantiCare Foundation, the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Executive Committee of the Southern New Jersey Spring Heart Walk of the American Heart Association. The Kiwanis Club of Atlantic City was established on November 20, 1920, and was the region’s first Kiwanis chapter. The Atlantic City chapter currently has nearly 40 members and is active in numerous community and educational programs. To fulfill its mission of serving children in our community, the club provides annual scholarships and awards for graduating high school seniors, sends needy children to summer camp, and sponsors the annual College Fair at Atlantic/Cape Community College and much more.
