From 2 – 5 p.m., PODS® containers will be placed at the Rubio’s Mission Valley restaurant, located at 2075-A Camino De La Reina. The public is encouraged to stop by and help fill them with donated toys that will then be distributed by the San Diego Armed Services YMCA (http://www.militaryymca.org/
At the first toy drive on April 21st, 45 toys were collected and event organizers are challenging the community to help them triple that number at the next event scheduled for May 19.
Each year, the ASYMCA invites over 500 San Diego service members and their families who missed the holidays to a popular Christmas recreation event.
“We are extremely excited to be working with PODS again to help collect toys for the children of our military families,” said Corey Arkush, director of ASYMCA. “Our first toy drive was a huge success and we are hoping our second one will be even bigger. It’s an amazing feeling to see the community come together to help out those in uniform who fought so hard for our country.”
