Residents and Staff of Querencia Incorporate Healthy Habits Into Everyday Life

PRLog (Press Release) - May 9, 2012 - Residents and staff of Querencia at Barton Creek senior living community recently participated in a special challenge that focused on incorporating the key components of healthy living into everyday life.  The Healthy Habits Challenge focused on five behaviors: drinking eight glasses of water per day, eating five servings of fruits and/or vegetables each day, getting at least 7 hours of sleep per night, doing 30 minutes of moderate exercise per day and eating three servings of whole grains each day.  Participants made note of each behavior they did each day for the five week period, with the winner being the person who completed the highest number of healthiest habits.  

“It’s never too late to break an unhealthy habit or start a new healthy one,” said Fran Werner, fitness and wellness expert at Querencia.  “Querencia is a community that prides itself in offering an active and healthy lifestyle that seniors can look forward to being a part of each and every day.  This program was beneficial in showing that just going back to the basics can improve one’s life.”
