The Green Bay Packers will trade footballs and shoulder pads for softballs and bats at Time Warner Cable Field on Sunday, June 3, 2012. The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and Packers wide receiver Donald Driver have announced the return of the Donald Driver Charity Softball Game presented by Kwik Trip to the home of the Midwest League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Game time is 1:05pm.
Driver is hosting the event for the fifth consecutive year. The annual event features a home run hitting contest and a game between the offensive and defensive squads of the Green Bay Packers.
"I can't wait to take the field for year number four and give fans a good game for a great cause," said Driver. "The fan support has been awesome. It's allowed out foundation to positively impact a number of quality organizations and people.
"And the defense is on a losing streak which is nice too!"
The game raises money for the Donald Driver Foundation. Driver and his wife Betina started the foundation to help homeless families and improve educational opportunities for disadvantaged youth in Northeastern Wisconsin and in Driver's hometown of Houston, Texas.
