New Research Uncovers How Much Instructors of Medical Assisting Programs Earn

May 9, 2012 - PRLog -- One of the most rewarding aspects of any career in health care is reaching that stage where you would like to ‘give back’ to your profession by teaching people who would like to gain entry into your chosen field.

And so it is with Medical Assisting.

But there’s a catch, in this field there are no official figures saying how much you can expect to earn as an instructor.  There are a number of highly reliable sources for salary information on medical assisting itself, including the American Association of Medical Assistants and the Bureau of Labor Statistics, but neither of these organizations provides this kind of salary information for instructors.

In order to help alleviate this problem, Medical Assistant Atlas have undertaken another one of their job advertisement surveys to find out just how much employers are offering in terms of salary for medical assisting instructors.

Although over 85% of job advertisements for instructors do not list the salary, Medical Assistant Atlas found that enough of them do in order for them to have provided the average salary for 19 states.

They were also able to gain information for a few other states which enabled them to provide an average advertised income for the nation at large.

The overall average income for the USA was found to be just under $46,000 per year.

However, the state in which you teach makes quite a large difference to your income. The highest earning state of New York was 45% higher than the lowest state, which was Nebraska.

Surprisingly, Nevada was in the middle of the list, despite the fact that the number of advertised jobs in that state has fallen considerably over the last couple of years.
