Therman E. Evans, a medical doctor and CEO of Morning Star Community Development Urban Renewal Corporation expressed his concerns about the health of our young people. Dr. Evans states that “regular exercise gives you more energy and staying power, better health, and lower stress”. “Exercise Your Faith” offers registrants the opportunity to walk, run, or cycle with friends, family, and co-workers to help raise funds critically needed to create better treatments that can alter the course of these diseases. Race distances range from 2.5k and 5k so all members of the family can join.
“The work done by these charities every day is inspirational, and fits in perfectly with the mission of Morning Star,” said Kori Porter, event coordinator. “We are pleased that so many local groups are stepping up to partner with us, and we are honored to play a part in bringing awareness to our community”. Sponsorship spots are still available.
All registered participants will receive a commemorative event t-shirt. Health promoters, healthcare advocates, local politicians, and members of the community will all join in this event to raise awareness and explain preventative measures to combat these and other diseases affecting our community. Registration and information is available at – www.exerciseyourfaith.info. This event is sponsored by Morning Star Community Development Corporation.
