Cameron Burns Joins AgSouth Farm Credit

May 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Terrance M. Wyatt, regional business development manager with AgSouth Farm Credit, recently announced that Cameron Burns has joined AgSouth Farm Credit in the Anderson location.  

Burns grew up in Pendleton, SC on the family’s beef cattle farm. She attended Clemson University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Economics and Statistics in December of 2010.  Burns will receive her Masters in Agricultural Education from Clemson University this May, with an emphasis in Agricultural Economics.

Growing up and throughout college, Burns was very active in numerous associations and clubs related to the agriculture industry. She received the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences Outstanding Senior Award for 2011-2012 and was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Clemson University Chapter of Golden Key Honor Society, and Clemson University Chapter Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

According to Wyatt, “Burns is a welcomed addition to the AgSouth team. She will be responsible for growing our business and offering exceptional service to our customers.”

AgSouth Farm Credit is one of the largest lending cooperatives in the Southeast. As of March 31, 2012, AgSouth had more than 7,500 members, $1.5 billion in assets and $263 million in capital and allocated accounts.  Most recently, AgSouth returned nearly $28 million of its profits for the year ending December, 2011 to its members. More than $8 million was paid to members in cash, and the remaining $19.5 million will be held in an allocated surplus account to build the association’s capital. Members in the Anderson service area received $3.8 million in patronage and surplus revolvement which is a significant economic impact on the communities served by the Anderson location.

AgSouth provides loans for agriculture, real estate, and rural homes, and offers leasing for automobiles, equipment, buildings, and commercial operations. The association also makes secondary home loans for home purchases, home construction, home improvements, and refinances.
