Unique Mother’s Day celebrations feature the arts, fine dining, and fun at Great Country Farms.

PRLog (Press Release) - May 7, 2012 - Bluemont, VA – Mom deserves an entire weekend to thank her for all she does year round. The Art & Asparagus Mother’s Day Weekend features local artists, fresh foods, and live theater. Cookology Chef Brad Spates will prepare a showcase multi-course dinner and two family friendly brunches with breathtaking views of the Loudoun Valley. The festivities begin on Saturday morning with fresh asparagus at its peak and local artists displaying their work. Mom can enjoy the exhibits while kids bounce, leap, climb, and jump on five acre farm style playground. Pet and feed our friendly animals and visit the corn bin “beach” before lunch at the Roosteraunt. The Saturday afternoon Theaterpalooza is sure to inspire budding performing artists and captivate their imaginations. Farmer Bob Zurschmeide comments, “When you’re a multi generation family business, you realize who really keeps things going. We want to honor all mothers with a weekend of relaxation and thanks.”  

On Saturday evening Chef Brad is creating eight courses and wine pairings on the terrace at Bluemont Vineyard featuring just picked produce and locally raised meats. Sunday brunch welcomes families to a five course farm fresh meal in the mountainside Stable at Bluemont Vineyard. The Great Country Farm Market is open all weekend with fresh asparagus, strawberry picking for the early birds, local meats and dairy products, jellies, baked goods and great gift ideas from local artists. The Roosteraunt features strawberry slushies and natural hot dogs, burgers and BBQ from 12-4pm.
